Wedding Stuff - Flowers
With less than 2 months to go till our June wedding, we're moving out of baby-land and into wedding-land, which is actually not as bad as it sounds. We're planning a fairly low-key do in David's parents' apple orchard with a reception back at their house. I'll admit to having put in some serious hours on wedding blogs like greenweddingshoes.com and stylemepretty.com, but with the result that we're pretty on top of how we want the day to go and the atmosphere we'd like to create. Today we were discussing the general vibe and we both agreed that we don't want anything to feel "wedding-y", rather like we've just invited friends down to the countryside to join us at our really nice restaurant. That goes for food, decorations, wedding outfits etc.
With this vibe in mind we've been collecting Bon Mamman Jam Jars for over a year now (David eats a lot of jam) and we're gonna have little vases of flowers dotted along the table. I've always loved Cow Parsley - that white summer flower, a weed really, whose heady stench scents the long light evenings and will always smell like summer in Europe to me, so we'll probably be using a lot of that, plucked from beside the road out the back of the house.
