Our Apple Orchard Wedding - Part 1

Wedding fun in the sun - a preview photo by our photographer Sjoerd Booij
Last Saturday David and I got hitched in his parent's apple orchard in a tiny Dutch town called Buren. The sun shone from dawn till dusk and we're still walking around stunned that somehow we pulled off an outdoor wedding in the middle of a notoriously wet Dutch summer. The whole day was just what we wanted and the resounding feeling I'm left with is, wow, that was so much more fun than I expected. Especially seeing as the the week and even night-before had a good dose of wedding drama. We'd actually been engaged for 18 months and while the planning was fun, the extended time to imagine all those people looking at us at our own little festival-of-us was pretty intimidating. That said, once the dress was on and I was a glass of wine in, I hit my bride-stride and enjoyed every minute of the day. As guests fly back to the corners of the planet from whence they came and as more photos come in I'll write a more extended post. But for now, here's a video our amazingly talented friend Samira whipped up for us practically overnight.
