Winter Beach

Today we took a break from the 'burbs and headed to the beach. It was a perfect day, about 20 degrees and gloriously sunny. A couple of kids were building castles, but no one was even thinking of swimming. Would have been a different story in Holland, no doubt.

The water was chilly and the small breakers tumbling gently onto the shore were enough to deter Cal from a swim. He was happy to explore the rock pools, occasionally parking his butt down in the water when he found a sun-warmed one.

Actually Cal was a bit of a pain today, quite whiney all day - but he doesn't look it in these pictures.
