Monday Is The New Sunday

Yesterday David bunked off work and we drove down to his parents' house in Buren. Spring was in full force with blossoms wafting on the warm air, sturdy month old lambs piled on top of each other in the sun, self-conscious little foals stumbling behind their mothers and punnets of strawberries for sale at honesty-policy shacks along the road. I can't wait to be able to point out all these things to Cal, because at the moment he can only see me from his car seat and after half an hour he'd had it with my performance and grumbled the rest of the way there. The orchard where we're getting hitched was wild with apple blossoms, cow parsley and those fluffy cottony flower thingies that you blow on to make a wish. Sadly these sweet flowers will be gone in a month, but David's parents have been planting some summer varieties which will bloom in time for the wedding. I can't wait to see how it looks and hope, hope, hope we have a lovely sunny day like yesterday. Also yesterday Cal was so knackered from the day that he slept all the way home and all the way through till 5.30 this morning, which I think technically counts as SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!
