On the Move, Finally
Cal can crawl. After one year and two weeks he can finally move his cute little butt wherever he wants to. Kind of. His crawling is commando-style and resembles breast-stroke more than anything because he hasn't figured out that he can move one arm at the time. Both arms slap down onto the floor in front of him. He kicks off with one toe. Drags forward and repeats. All the while grunting and grinning.
So far he's been happy to crawl around a 3x2m space in the living room but this morning he decided to broaden his horizons and follow David into the kitchen. It was a bit of a long hike and ended in face down crying in the hallway. I can't wait to set him loose on a warm sunny patch of grass, or the beach in less than a week.
This week can't be over soon enough. There's a fresh 5cm of snow on the ground and I've just gotten my 8-millionth cold for the season. I desperately need some sunshine and portion of fresh cooked fish and chips on the beach. It's the only thing that can save me.
