A Big Idea
The work is done. I have another two whole days off (without Cal) and my mind, terrified of all the free time descending on me, has lurched into action. This morning whilst reading to Cal, I had A Big Idea. A kid's story that came to me neat and complete like a crisp white letter pushed through the mail slot. It's been months since I've felt creative. It's nice to know that as soon as your imagination has wiggle-room, that it still likes to wiggle.
But first, I have winter-windows to windex, a pedicure to procure for our sunny-weather holiday at the end of this week, and then I'm going to get right to it. I like to give ideas a few days to swill around. And I like what Steinbeck said, "The main thing is not to hurry. Nothing good gets away."
